It’s been a while since I have taken portraits as such, with most of my more recent outings have revolved around my travels (head over to The Wayfarers Lens to see those). More recently, while feeling a bit flat with routine, I have taken up gridiron (American football) on pretty much a whim, which has reignited my passion for sports photography also.
Over the years I have been exposed to gridiron, thanks to my brother loving it as a kid and numerous trips to the USA, but have never really understood the sport until I started playing. What surprised me the most? The competitiveness, passion and emotion of the sport, also the camaraderie between players.
The game is trying to get more exposure here in Australia, and with some awesome, raw shots of players it’s been great to be able to help to promote the sport here in Perth.
